The rapidly spreading Ebola epidemic in West Africa is both a human rights and public health crisis. Join us at Roosevelt House for a panel discussion where we will examine the human rights standards applicable to the epidemic, and the threat posed not only to Africa, but also to the rest of the world.

Moderator:  Thomas Farley, MD, MPH, Joan H. Tisch Distinguished Fellow in Public Health, Hunter College, and former Commissioner, NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene.

Panelists: Widney Brown, Director of Programs, Physicians for Human Rights, and former Senior Director for Law and Policy, Amnesty International and Deputy Program Director at Human Rights Watch; Jay Varma, MD, Deputy Commissioner for Disease Control, NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene, and former Medical Epidemiologist at the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
