The Roosevelt House Public Policy Institute presents:

Protecting the Ballot: Election Law and Voter Access

Wednesday, October 20, 2021

1:30 – 2:30 PM
47-49 East 65th Street, New York, NY 10065

In the wake of the 2020 Presidential Election, state legislatures across the United States have responded to unsubstantiated claims of election fraud by passing laws restricting access to the ballot. This wave of voter suppression is best exhibited by Texas’s Senate Bill 1 (SB1) but is by no means the only example. There are scores of bills now being considered to suppress votes and curtail ballot access. To discuss that and more join us on Wednesday, October 20 at 1:30 PM for Protecting the Ballot: Election Law and Voter Access.

Speakers:

Jerry Goldfeder, Special Advisor to the American Bar Association’s Election Law Committee and Special Counsel at Stroock & Stroock & Lavan LLP

Dr. Sanford Schram, Political Science Department and Roosevelt House Faculty Associate, Hunter College

Dr. Basil A. Smikle Jr., Distinguished Lecturer and Director of the Public Policy Program at Roosevelt House, Hunter College (Moderator)
