The Wexler Library Renovation
The Library is the heart of an academic institution. While our Library continues to play that central role, the Internet and digital information technology have radically changed libraries in form and function. They are no longer just a source for books, but also a study hub where students can meet with classmates and faculty to conduct research, discuss coursework and collaborate on projects.
Our Library is an especially critical gathering place, where learning and discussion continue outside the classroom. To continue to fulfill Hunter’s academic mission, and to reflect the College’s dynamic, unparalleled growth in academic stature during the past decade, Hunter has launched a $45 million campaign to renovate and completely transform the Library. Phase I of the construction -- the third floor of the East Building -- is scheduled for completion in late spring.
